We run a very successful yearly beer festival. We survey pubs and provide entries for the Good Beer Guide. We select a branch Pub and Cider Pub of the Year. We maintain a pubs database and keep WhatPub up to date - we rely on updates from all CAMRA to help us do this. We encourage members to submit beer scores via WhatPub as this helps us to compile entries for the Good Beer Guide and select our Pub of the Year.
We would like to offer a varied social programme to suit local members, but unfortunately we don't have a social secretary at the moment. We keep in contact with local members via email, our website, and social media. We don't have a branch magazine as the Sussex branches have a shared magazine Sussex Drinker which can read online by following the link.
Volunteers to help in the branch are always welcome and we can find something for you to do regardless of home much time and effort you can spare. Please contact any of the committee members if you are interested.
Our contact us page gives you the email addresses of the branch committee and has a brief description of each role.
CAMRA is considered one of the most successful consumer organisations across Europe. Founded by four real ale enthusiasts back in 1971, today we represent nearly 200,000 members across the UK.
Our vision is to have quality real ale, cider and perry and thriving pubs in every community. Our mission is to promote and advocate:
- the production, availability and consumption of quality real ale, cider and perry
- pubs and clubs as social centres and part of the UK’s cultural heritage
- the benefits of responsible social drinking
We do this by encouraging beer-drinking and pub-going with our beer festivals, pub finders and awards, and by lobbying Government for change to best support the industry. There’s plenty for everyone, whether you’re a dedicated campaigner, a beer connoisseur looking to learn more about beer or just want to meet up with friends in your local. Why not join the beer movement?
Discourse is a discussion forum for CAMRA members to discuss campaigning, pub protection, beer and cider.
