Harveys Brewery Tour 2026
On Friday 28th May, we were invited to a brewery tour at Harvey's. Getting there proved a challenge — a fire on the tracks at Angmering had burnt through the cable, so no trains were running from Worthing to Brighton. Undeterred, we all found a way through, by bus, by diversion and by lift, and arrived at the brewery for 5pm.
Our guide for the evening was Mr Henry Kirk, who was engaging and full of knowledge, both about the brewery's history and about the craft of brewing itself. He led us on an excellent tour, taking us from the yard to the malting loft to the open fermenters, before finishing in the tasting room, where we all got to enjoy some really great beer. On offer were Harvey's Old, served from both a wooden cask and a modern cask, along with Best, Pells Pale and Sussex, to name a few.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable social, and we got to meet members we hadn't come across before, all of whom made us feel very welcome. Many thanks to Harvey's for hosting such a great event.
