Post Event Report

Our pub crawl kicked off at The George in Littlehampton. The original five of us quickly settled in, sampling their impressive seasonal offerings: the festive Maxim Santastic and Rudgate Evil Elf. The evergreen Oakham Citra was a firm favourite before we headed across town.

Social Littlehampton to Goring

Our second stop, The New Inn, was a haven of warmth. We were greeted with a wonderful welcome and the cosy sight of armchairs gathered around a roaring log fire. The ever-changing cask selection included Black Sheep Snowflake, Long Man Bitter, and Dorking Brewery Winters Coming.

Next, a quick bus trip took us directly to The Quill in Rustington. Despite the wet and rainy weather outside, the bar was bright and welcoming. We made the most of their cask selection, trying all four offerings: Long Man Green Hopped Ale, Firebird Heritage, Three Acre Amarillo Pale, and Lost Pier's Snitches get Stiches.

A short hop later, we arrived at The Great Dane in East Preston. The pub was packed due to the East Preston Christmas Festival, and it was easy to see why, as they also serve great coffee and pastries. We managed to enjoy their two casks: Shepherds Neeme Spitfire and Langhams Hip Hop.

The journey continued to The Rassy and Snug in Ferring, a unique spot described as a delicatessen with a bar nestled at the back. While strictly keg, they focus on local excellence with Sussex Beers, Wines, and Gins. Being able to order great bar snacks from the deli menu was a highlight, as we enjoyed Hand Otto and Unbarred Almafi.

Our final bus ride took us to Goring. We dropped into The Fynn, where the cask lineup featured Deya Fresh Hop, Longman Best Bitter, and two options from New Bristol Beer Factory. Our group had started to thin out, but we made one last move to The Elephant in the Room. It was our first time visiting, and we were made incredibly welcome, finishing the night on the crisp, citrus notes of a Blue Moon served with a slice of orange.
