Use the train and bus to have a safe and enjoyable time visiting micropubs on the Sussex coast as most of our micropubs are very close to railway stations. It is very easy to get to Hove or Brighton from London. The West Coastway line runs more or less along the coast and connects Brighton to Chichester and beyond. Some trains from London going through Hove continue on this line, but not all go as far as Chichester, some stopping at Littlehampton or Bognor Regis. A southward branch connects to Bognor Regis from Barnham. The map below shows the micropubs and the train and bus routes. Use the View Larger Map button on the right hand side to open a larger map in a new window.
It is important to check that your train ticket allows you to break the journey and re-join later. Very cheap tickets e.g. Advance Tickets don't usually allow this. Also check that planned engineering work won't disrupt your journey.
Please make sure that the micropubs are open on the days and times you plan to visit. The map pins have details of opening times and WhatPub can also be used to check opening times. A phone call might be a good idea to double check...
There is also a micropub in Selsey, The Crab Pot on the High Street. There isn't a railway station in Selsey but to get there from Chichester Station the Stagecoach 51 bus runs every 15 minutes until 23.55 (half hourly mid evening). The journey takes 33 minutes and stops very close to the Crab Pot.
The Open Arms in East Grinstead is served by trains from East Croydon.
