Branch Awards

Each year the branch selects a Pub Of The Year (POTY) and a Country Pub Of the Year. Our chosen POTY then goes forward to the county, and then to the regional competition (in our case Surrey and Sussex) where a single pub is selected as the finalist to represent the region.

Each of the sixteen regional finalists then competes in the next round of the competition, hoping to be named one of the four super-regional finalists from which just one pub is selected to be CAMRA National Pub Of The Year.

We may also choose to select a Cider Pub Of The Year for pub consistently selling traditional cider in good condition.

Any CAMRA member can nominate a pub for an Arun and Adur Branch Award. An award can be made for consistently serving high quality and an expansive range of local real ales and ciders. Please email the Pubs Officer with any of your recommendations.

2022 Branch Awards
Pub Of The Year

Our Pub Of The Year for 2023 is the Five Bells at West Chiltington

We had a small but enthusiastic group at the presentation on the 30th April. Bill & Joan were very pleased to receive their award and confirmed that on September 3rd, it will be exactly 40 years since they took over at the pub, when it was still a King & Barnes tenancy. We all stayed for what everyone said was a superb beef roast.
